Diccionario Chabacano

Ya susta yo tiene ya pala diccionario el Chabacano de Cavite.

The Diccionario is a very useful tool for both speakers and learners of Chabacano. It is divided into three sections:

Part I - Chabacano-Ingles-Tagalog
Part II - Ingles-Chabacano
Part III - Tagalog-Chabacano

So, if you're looking for a word in Chabacano and know only the English or Tagalog equivalent, the Chabacano translation will be easy to look up. Very useful, indeed, and for those of us who grew up with Chabacano as an oral, rather than written, language, it guides us also on the proper spelling of words.

The Diccionario is a project of the Asosacion Chabacano del Ciudad de Cavite, and is available at the Cavite City Museum and Library. If you're Chabacano or Caviteno and are looking for a nice Christmas gift for family and friends, this would be a perfect aguinaldo. It's P300 only and you can get your copies at the CCML or email Ms Joy dela Rosa at

Very good project of the Association. I hope the residents of CAvite City who does not speak chabacano will get hold of the dictionary and learn few words. Like what they did in Zamboanga City, the city officials urged their residents to learn to speak chabacano. They are all chabacano-speaking residents.

Gina, please buy one for your Dad so we will speak chabacano here in Daly City.

Bakit di na kayo malimit mag post ngayon? Baka busy lang siguro kayo.
Anyway, just recently ko lang nakita ang blog na ito, kasabay nung isang site about chabacano din. And it inspire me to make a blog about Cavite City din, like what you did to this site. It will consist mostly of pictures, old and new cavite city will be the theme of the site/blog. Im just gathering stuff bago ko simulan. Galing nga pala ko sa Pamilyang Ballesteros ng Brgy San Jose (58-A/58-mother/Patola) sa San Roque at Pamilya Cobarrubia. Grandmother(Fermina "Lola Min" Jose Cobarrubia) ko yung nagtitinda ng bibingka sa San Roque, harap ng Manuel Rojas Elem. School. Its nice to know na may mga ganitong klase ng sites about Cavite City, dahil konti lang talaga sites na ganito. Just continue posting and more power!

En mi opinión, pienso que el gobierno de España junto con el gobierno de Las Filipinas, y por qué no, también gobiernos de latinoamerica, debería colaborar para que el español o castellano sea rescatado en Las Filipinas.

I have also published some other comments in Spanish in this site as anonymous, but always writing my name "Ubaldo Gandica", that's because I didn't remember my password in blogger.

I hope you can respond to some of my questions about Chabacano language.

Muchos Saludos.

Ubaldo.

I was wondering kung pwede pa rin ang chabacano dictionary ma-order. I can send the money or pay on-line and pay extra for postage or mailing kasi i am here in California. Or if not, i can ask my family to get a copy for me. Just let me know where to go and howmuch it is so i can have someone pick one up for me. Thanks in advance. Or u can email me at mitch_concepcion@yahoo.com.
